target/bramling cross????

Post by YorkshireTiger » Fri Sep 21, 2012 8:31 pm

Hi there, just received my first delivery of the new brewing season (Im operating without temperature control) from the WHS, looking forward to doing a pale ale with Bramling Cross hops, As fro bittering hops Ive got an unopened pack of Target that I was planning to use, is there any reason not to combine these two? Any thoughts on how best to use my Bramling Cross, 10mins from end? Flame Out? dry hopping?
Thanks in advance, Matt

Target and Bramling X compliment each other very well IMO. I will leave the schedule up to you, but X works well at 10mins, flame out and dry hop. Why not do all 3? Bramling X is one of my favourite hops. I do think Bramling X works slightly better in a darker beer, but then we just did a green hop Pale ale brew with them and it was outstanding. :-)

Can't be arsed to keep changing this bit, so, drinking some beer and wanting to brew many more!

Even though you're biased 'cos you picked the Bramling X, I have to say you're quite right that the green hop pale ale is a cracker.
