I have an AIPA I wasn't able to dry hop as I would have liked to.
Has anyone tried using Malt Miller Pure Hop Aroma Oils yet?
I've never really considered them before as it seems a bit like cheating :-\ but I might give it a go. also the suggested quantity is 1ml per 10l which is also way cheaper than dry hopping.
Pure Hop Aroma Oils
Re: Pure Hop Aroma Oils
I have some of the cascade aroma oil from maltmiller and have used it in a couple of APAs. With both brews I split the brew and bottled half with the hop oil and the other half without. I could detect the extra aroma in the bottles with the oil - very pleasant indeed.
Some have claimed that it kills head retention but with both brews there was no adverse effect in my beers.
I will be bottling the latest batch of my Black IPA tomorrow and will be dosing the brew with a couple of ml of the oil before bottling..

I had some cascade oil to play with recently. It certainly added flavour, but it wasn't like cascade as I didn't get any grapefruit off it.

These oils are to add aroma not flavour...Eadweard wrote:I had some cascade oil to play with recently. It certainly added flavour, but it wasn't like cascade as I didn't get any grapefruit off it.

I'm just kegging the first Corny full. If it's a bit lacking in aroma I'll get some of the Cascade oil in.
Does it have much of a shelf life?

I've used Cascade and EKG from Maltmiller, was very pleased with the results, no ill affect on the head retention.
