hi all, anyone tried the Crouch Vale Best Bitter recipe from the copperkettle home brewing complete All grain kit???

i find that the bitterness not quite there but sometimes can taste a burnt flavour , could that be the roast barley flavour coming through??

anyone else got tasting notes?? of this one??

Just saw this thread, doing the Crouch Vale BEST BITTER tomorrow, BIAB style.
Taken the recipe from Marc Ollosson's book but bumping up the Pale Malt by a 100 grams to use up old stock.
Anyone got further comments on this?

Edit: just looking at the copper kettle product, it's got 80g of roast barley, whereas Marc's recipe says 305g of Crystal (and 4000g Pale). The roast barley gives the burnt flavour, I believe.
