I'm just about to use auxiliary finings with isinglass for the first time. Given that the two should, (must) not be added at the same time, does anyone know what the time gap should be? and does it matter which is added first?
Enlightenment gratefully received.

Re: Auxiliary Finings
Add the auxilliary finings first and swirl the barrel round to ensure a good mix.
Then you can add the isinglass. Swirl again to mix well.
Easy peasy!

Thanks Guy, so there's no minimum wait time then between additions.guypettigrew wrote:Add the auxilliary finings first and swirl the barrel round to ensure a good mix.

Re: Auxiliary Finings
The important thing is not to mix the two finings together. They'll nullify each other if you do.
Critch posted on here once to say a commercial brewery--forget which--may have been Robinsons, only left 12 seconds between the two finings!
My usual practice is to pour the auxilliary finings into the keg before racking the beer into it, then add primings, then swirl it about lots, then add the isinglass and swirl it about a lot more.
