just thought I'd say hello

Post by AceMcAce » Wed Feb 13, 2013 2:27 am

I used to post mainly on the kit boards, but this afternoon I dropped off 2 sanke kegs and a 100L stockpot with a man who's going to fit them out (as a hlt, mash tun and boiler respectively) I thought I'd say hello, and I hope you all look forward to me asking all the usual questions in the coming weeks.

Yeah, wow! That's quite an upgrade. Best of luck, and don't hesitate to ask any questions as you go.

We'd love to see pictures once you get it all back and setup.

Haha. Yeah, I know. Well, I thought to myself that the boiler is the real limiting factor with the setup. If I had gone for one of the Sanke kegs for it, I could only ever do a 40L ish batch as the top end. But, with a 50L Mash tun, and a 100L boiler I should be good to go for....well....Loads. Plus, if it's going to take me 7 hours to make a batch of beer, I don't want to be making 20L batches. (Obviously I'll have to til I've got the method down)

That all depends on how shiny I can get it

I may have to heavily redact the images due to the origins of the HLT and Mash Tun

Huzzah! Just got the call that everything is ready to pick up. Only a couple of jobs left on my list and I'm good to go

1 - Order 2 solar pumps
2 - Make the wort chiller from the copper pipe I've had lying around for 12 months
3 - Buy an empty calorgas container off ebay for as cheap as possible so I don't have to pay the £35 they want for the rental fee.

Once I've got these out of the way, I'm smooth like gravy!
