Is this normal?

I brewed this at the weekend and it smells gorgeous. Haven't seen brown bubbles before, any idea what they are? I'm sure its ok but I'm just a bit concerned, only AG#2 and didn't have them on #1. Think the green is bit of hop, well i hope so!

Cheers!

Perfectly. All you are seeing is trub containing hop resins and proteins from the malt. Some advocate skimming this top layer so it doesn't fall back into the brew but you will probably not notice much difference. If you are anally obsessive about clarity then do it, if you're paranoid about infection then don't.

Not got any brews on at the minute after a period of almost constant brewing. That looks great, can almost smell it as I look at the picture.

Thanks guys, I can rest easy now! Yeah it smells so good much better than the hop back summer lightening I did the week before. I'm addicted now!

Most of the brown stuff should end up as a ring around the FV.
