Hi all,
Just sat here wondering about the insurance implications of our hobby (or career for those who actually sell their beers).
I've seen a few threads where people have discussed the potential pitfalls of using unrated equipment and having a fire (for example), but has anyone ever actually discussed their equipment with a insurance company.
I know most insurers have a 'specifed items' section, have any of you declared your brewery? (either because of teh cost to replace everything, or because of the risk?)
also, I know 'home' insurance is potentially invalidated if you have a business operating, but for those few who do have a commercial side, how did you go about getting the appropriate insurance? If you don't mind, what is a ball park for the costs of that (just to be nosy really, although it would be interesting to put it into comparison with the average 'home' cost).
What are any of your thoughts on this? Is it just a boring topic that only rattles through my head and no-one elses!
Cheers

Re: brewery insurance
If you are operating in a "hobby" scale I wouldn't have thought it would need declaring. If your selling though and there was a fire or something I would expect an insurer to reject a claim unless you have told them when I buying the insurance.
