Where to buy all grain kits / ingredients from?
Where to buy all grain kits / ingredients from?
Hi all,
My previous supplier for all grain ingredients seems to have wound up and I was wondering whether anyone could suggest where to purchase all grain ingredients from online? I've had an 18 month break from brewing because of small children but am ready to start filling the cellar again!
Thanks in advance
Kevin

There are several good online retailers but I tend to use Rob at Maltmiller as you can't beat his range of grains and hops.
The important thing for me is that the grains are crushed when you order them whereas most of the others have the grain supplied to them ready crushed before they then send it out to you. Also if you have a mill, as I do, you can order all the grains uncrushed.
Rob's packaging of hops is very good as well - nice flat, heavy duty foil pouches that don't take up much room in the fridge or freezer.

Yeah another vote for malt miller
I have also bought from these two, just to give you some other options
http://www.worcesterhopshop.co.uk/ - there's a 5% off code somewhere on the forum - very good value hops
http://www.thehomebrewcompany.co.uk/ - based in ireland but are usually pretty good value and they use DPD who are good

I use Hop and Grape. I don't brew to the point where I can buy sacks of stuff, but I can buy exactly what I need.

I found BrewUK expessive compared to the others mentioned. Although I did once get a double delivery in error so that probably evened it out!Dave S wrote:Brew UK, also good quality and good service.

(not sure how long it'll take to use 2000 bottle caps though...

Just ordered in some supplies from here:

It is worth having a look around for the best offers, I usually get my sacks of pale from Worcester hop shop since that's the cheapest I can find anywhere.

Another vote for Worcester hop shop. Grain price is normal, but the hops are cheaper than most, as you'd hope with their name.

I consider these guys my LHBS and have found them to be very friendly, helpful and reasonably priced.TC2642 wrote:Just ordered in some supplies from here:

DME has all come from the aforementioned Irish homebrewcompany however, as their price seems to be extremely competitive for DME. I'm assuming the quality is also good as the two finished brews we've had taste great, and have scored well in competition.
