First brew in the mash tun and I lost 5 degrees over 90 minutes. Decided to wrap it up in two layers of insulation and today I've mashed in at 65 and after 40 minutes I check it and its at 67!!!!! Can't bloody win !!

It's probably holding it's temperature this time. Might have evened out in temperature since you first measured. And the mash temperature should increase slightly during the first stage of the mash (I could be wrong on this though )
Cheers and gone,

Did you hit your target volume, or have you got more wort at a lower gravity??
Did you measure your pre-boil gravity?

It is possible that you have had a sparge issue as you should not have missed target by such a large amount.

SHIT!!!!! Just realised I was meant to add Brown sugar at 15 mins!!!! Could I boil 2 litres of water, add sugar to that for 15 then add to the beer in fv?

Yes, but just make sure you cool it down before adding to the FV......I would try and dissolve it in less water to be honest; maybe try 500ml to start with.

Nice one, cheers. Never brewed using sugar and forgot to add it on to my boil schedule on the brew sheet. That's probably why my SG is off
