Best Dry hop for Seymour Citra Gold

Post by Chrissyr63 » Sun Sep 07, 2014 8:59 pm

Hi all,

Could I ask for some options on what to with a Seymour Citra Gold I did on Saturday (I can't seem to keep up with everyone liking it!)

I'd like to dry hop it if possible but can only do this of a weekend so my options are (and I need to miss the weekend after next):

1) Dry hop next Friday and then bottle Sunday morning (so about 40hrs dry hop and only 7 days in FV)
2) Dry hop next Sunday and then bottle 2 Saturdays after (so hops in for 13 days)
3) skip the dry hop and leave for 3 weeks

So which options seems best? Are there any better options?

thanks in advance,
C

I am a big fan of this product. I don't think you need to dry hop. The great thing about this beer is the balance between the hops and the orange peel, if you dry hop you risk losing that. If you feel your aroma is low I'd suggest 25g citra for a week and then taste

Thanks for the reply - I was edging to just leaving it the 3 weeks as at least I know it will be safe.
