Topping Up

Post by mshergold » Wed Jan 28, 2015 5:25 pm

My first brew day for a couple of years today - hoorah! However, I seem to have forgotten a lot. Also, I've lost at some links and spreadsheets containing calculators. The most important is my top up calculator which I'm sure I found somewhere on the forum, but don't seem able to find it today. Does anyone know where it is?

I brewed Banks's Original (p115 of Graham Wheeler's BYOBRA) and have ended up with 13 litres of wort at 1060og/20.6c. A calculator on another site tells me I need to add 8.7 litres of water. Does this sound correct? Also, I don't think I'll have time to add it until Friday or Saturday. Would this be OK?

13 x 60 = 780.
780 / 36 = 21.7.
21.7 - 13 = 8.7.
8.7 litres sounds good to me
