Crisps Clear

Post by AceMcAce » Wed Jul 06, 2016 3:43 pm

Can anyone tell me if this is any good (and how much it costs normally?)

I'm planning on buying a sack of lager malt for a few upcoming brews anyway.

Thanks

Not sure about the usual cost but it looks good to me. Will be good for at least 6 months after the BBE date, probably 12 months if kept cool and dark.

Malt miller sell it for the same price but without free delivery and I assume the low best before, brewery suppliers sell it for around £14 + VAT but will have a higher delivery charge and may not sell to home brewers, if you buy a tonne you could get it for about 50p per Kg delivered.

I wouldn't buy 25kg of crushed grain, most of it will have gone stale by the time I'd used it. Uncrushed, I would.

I have been using some crushed malt that is 12 months past its BBE date and the beers are fine.
