If you want full control over everything then the effort expended on 'all grain', imo at least, is worth it, the end result may not be better,

I've made kits periodically during my time as a AG brewer. I like the ease of it and when I don't a have a weekend free for a couple of weeks I can still keep myself in stock with some cheap ordinary beer. I've made the cheapest kits I could find at wilkos recently and they weren't bad, just not as good as the AG stuff. Whorst has a friend, Craig, who reckons kits can be just as good as AG. I wouldn't know because like I said, I go for the cheap ones...

still to brew my first AG but I'm guessing it's the time that put people off.... presumably there is enough time in the brewing schedule where the brewer is left twiddling his, (or her) thumbs to get a kit or two on as well..... just need extra FV's and don't leave yourself too much to do come bottling day ;-0

I like to brew an AG about every 2-3 weeks, But if im short of time I still like to have something bubbling away.
Im very fond of a keg of Coopers Stout and I like to have a few dozen bottles of Wherry. If kept for a few months it can be a nice cold drink.
Nothing wrong with a kit now an then.
