just an update to this had a few pints from the keg and it was wonderful, just as good if not better than a bottle so im off to buy more kegs and a decent tap because the one i have just gives me half beer and half foam.

You really need one on a long beer line to be able to ballance the pressures properly. The dalex ones (like here on ebay) are quite popular and cheap; you can get them with flow adjustment or without (free flow), you can ballance with the line length so this isn't necessary but it can be useful for minor tweeking (for instance if you have a keggorator setup with kegs at slightly different pressures). you can also get them mounted in a stand with drip tray

There are many types of tap though and if you think these are a bit functional looking you can spend almost as much as your heart desires on shiny affairs that can look very smart indeed as part of a bar or keggerator setup, or and you can get T-bar setups too, but aside from my first tap (from norm) I haven't gone that way myself. Yet :-)

Cheers

hi - I currently brew from kits into cornies - I make my kit into the 1st fermenter for approx 7 days (until it stops bubbling in the airlock) then transfer into a secondary fermenter with airlock for 4 - 5 weeks then into a couple of cornies for a week at 30 psi and then serve still at 30 psi - I have installed flow regulators on my taps to stop foaming - this makes me a perfect pint - I hope this helps
