spot on dunc as normal! its said it aids yeast due to a larger amount of surface area for the yeast to propagate on(in the yeast book somewhere not got it on me at the mo to quote page numbers)

do not fear the cold break, nearly 300 comercial brews in, never a problem.....

Hot break cold break lunch break - gimme a break! Ok I'm sold,will leave it in next time round but I'm telling y'all right now,if me beer turns out crappy :D !

So if the cold break material is good for the yeast, why bother rinsing?
no palate, no patience.

Mainly to get rid of the dead yeast.
