I've used the MM once and found the service excellent, so will definitely be using them again. I also think it is very big of Rob to hold his hands up in the way he has. Everyone does indeed make mistakes from time to time, (except me of course :^o ).
Best wishes

Something that is often said about the manufacturer of a car forum I frequent is

"its not about what goes wrong . . . its about the response you get when something does go wrong"

The problem with Rob is that he is so helpful, that you often spend a fortune with him, for stuff you don't need, to make up for some favour he has done for you for free!!

Just stop it Rob . . . Or you'll be named on the divorce papers!!

Ha, very true.

I will indeed have no worries about doing my next huge grain and hop order with himself now, so providing great service will indeed provide him good business from me.

Not only do I rate Robs service as second to none I have had the pleasure to meet him twice and had a few beers with him. Not only is he great company he is a dedicated brewer with a genuine love of the hobby.

I concur with Dennis. I always collect my orders, as I don't live far away. He is one of the most amenable people I know. The product is always of the highest order.

As far as complaining on line goes, I think it's only fair to wait until the issue has been resolved (good or bad) before criticising. Retractions don't always get read and any unfounded criticism can cause irreparable damage to a small business.

You say that... But as far as I can see this has done nothing but improve Robs reputation.

Agreed. But Rob has a very strong core of support. Other retailers may not yet have established such loyalty, yet be equally worthy. An ill advised "venting" on here or any other forum, could be enough to cripple a less established retailer. I think, at the very least, they deserve the opportunity to "make good" any issues before posting.

Its probably unnecessary to chuck my tuppenyhapneth in, but I brewed last weekend and found I was low on yeast and having read the English hop page I developed a strange desire to brew with fuggles and EKG so I ordered from Rob Sunday and the stuff was here Wed.

Which is why you will find I asked Jim to undelete this thread and let Rob post his reply to me, so anyone who wondered got to see how generous and nice about it he was, and explain what went wrong.

What concerns me is that you should attack a retailer on a public forum without really trying to resolve it in the first place. But I guess you know best.

Bit of patience is all thats needed some times. In this case its worked out well but it is just fortunate that rob posts on here. Many other retailers don't and if you hadn't come back to add the full story it might have been left as:
"Rob stole my candy and was mean to me deliberately!"
I agree with beer'o'clock, that said hindsight is brilliant. Faults all round, mine included for jumping on the bandwagon but hey ho.
