My central heating boiler broke down a few weeks ago and the house was cold but I found my bedroom was warm !?

I put a thermometer in there and it was a constant 19˚C!

This I've put down to my water bed so now my FV's go in the bedroom and SWMBO has to put up with the gurgling and brewery smell! =D>

Hi

I found that the fementation, can give off 5C to 6C above ambient. Measuring center of fermention, in the early days of fementation.

What I now do to control this, is have the probe in the center (1/3 the way down) of the fermentation vessel and then link this to an ATC, which controls the fridge and the brewbelt.

Personally, I really like this method and I never see the fermenter out of the target range +/-0.5C
