Can I still fine this with gelatin or is it likely to gum up around
the hops and make a horrible mess?
I've tried it like that.

However, the gelatine solution I make up is very light and not "gummy". I think it would be fine.
Thanks. I'm only planning on using 1/4 teaspoon or so in my solution so hopefully OK

Can I ask if those who use gelatin use it coz you have trouble with your beer clearing, or just do it as standard practice to speed things up?

I don't normally bother however this is a pilot brew for my sister's wedding and you know what some people are like... Using US-05 which always takes an age to clear

Speeds things up - particularly important if you want to preserve hop flavour in a big IPA.

It also combats chill haze particularly well.
Ingredients: Water, Barley, Hops, Yeast, Seaweed, Blood, Sweat, The swim bladder of a sturgeon, My enemies tears, Scenes of mild peril, An otter's handbag and Riboflavin.

And at cheap eBay prices for a bag of gelatine powder it's worth trying it.
