upping the grain bill
upping the grain bill
hi all just a quick one, when upping the grain bill to account for low efficency (mine is at about 65% and most recipes seem to be about 80%)should the whole grain bill including crystal malts and any sugars be upped as well? i predict that i will have to up it by about 20% to reach the og of a recipe that is intended for an 80% efficency also what about the hops? cheers edd.
Re: upping the grain bill

Re: upping the grain bill
Edd,
I've absolutely no experience in AG brewing (yet, first brew day planned between Xmas and NY) but I'd say that you don't need to up your sugar as you aren't sparging it..... isn't it added during the boil?
If I said sth stupid you can hit me!
Cheers,
Paul
