Priming Sugar

1st candidate for the daftest question of the year coming up.

When you use primimg sugar do you, or how do you sterilise it. I have always force carb'd in the past, and only just started "cask conditioning" having modded a couple of cornies to do so. I use brewers sugar, disolved in boililng water then returned to the boil but is it necessary?

Having been scrupulous in the brewing process to keep anything non sterile away from my wort after boiling, it seems odd just to chuck sugar in straight from the bag.

Pure dry sugar is a pretty harsh environment for bugs to grow (as is beer) so you're not really going to get any problems. I never have anyway!
