Cornie Pressure

Post by Carpking » Thu Mar 12, 2009 10:05 am

Just a quickie guys.
Got 2 brews into cornies last night, purged air out and gassed up to about 25psi. This morning both were down to 3psi(ish). So gassed back up.
The question is... has that co2 gone 'into' the ale? I guess a few top-ups and then it will stop soaking it up and i can maintain around 10psi?
Thanks for any advice.
:D

That sounds normal, the Co2 will be absorbed into the beer over a period of time.
I pressurise to a high psi to set the seals only and check for leaks, then drop to 5-8psi and leave, it takes a week or so to reach equilibrium
