URGENT HELP PLEASE!

Post by Capped » Sun Aug 02, 2009 5:37 pm

I'm in the middle of running my hot wort thru' the CFC. It's halfway done but still pulling lots of trub through for some reason or another. I can see it very clearly in the FV. What to do? Do I carry on regardless and add my yeast when it's all collected,or shall I let it stand in the FV,see if it all falls out of suspension in an hour or two then transfer it to a new FV? Ta in advance.

I'd just carry on and not worry about it. It'll settle at the bottom of the fermenter with the spent yeast and shouldn't affect your beer at all.

It may be cold break from cooling the wort, either way it's no prob, carry on as H said.

I was hoping someone would say that! Almost done now,and it seems that what's happened,is the hops 'n' stuff have fallen to the bottom but incredibly a portion of the mesh sieve has remained free of hops so left it exposed to all the gunk in there. Never seen that before! Ah well,if all I've to worry about is an extra-thick sediment in the FV,I can live with that.
