Re: oatmeal stout
is it bottled or in a keg?
did you prime with anything?
have you added CO2?
Oatmeal is renowned for being a head killer, something to do with oils in the oats themselves

But a bit of head on a stout is good so what do we do? Is roating the oats a way to solve this problem?Garth wrote:is it bottled or in a keg?

prime with a bit more sugar, or if in the keg/cornie a bit more gas?
Re: oatmeal stout
i had a few problems with this whilst it was fermenting. it kept getting stuck and so on so i decided to bottle it after about 3 weeks primary, f.g 1.020. so to be on the safe side and as it was a stout i didn't prime with anything. but like i said it does have a slight fizz as you would expect from a stout.
