I shall be saying goodbye to 17lts of TTL tonight as it is all riddled with acetic bacteria...
What a bloody waste...
Well it had to happen

What a bummer mate! How did that happen then?
From what I've just read about it, is it because the beer got oxidised when you bottled/kegged it???

What a shame. I've never had an infected brew, even in the old days when I used to brew in an ordinary plastic bucket (no such concept as food grade then) with no lid and use Campden tablets for sanitisation. Any idea what went wrong?
Best wishes

Well I was making soem Hobgoblin last week and this #2 was ready for bottling. Just as I was about to bottle I realised #3 was in the bucket with the tap on that fits the 'little bottler' tool!!! arghhh
So after much swearing and running around the kitchen I quickly rinsed out the KK and chucked #2 in there. Now whether or not it was infected before that point Ill never know...went to try it this week after it had been in the keg a few days and it was a lovely colour but cloudy. Upon smelling it I couldnt decide whether it was toffee or TCP!! Lo and behold I brought it into work today and there are loads of acetic bacteria swimming around....gutted.
I am really scrupulous with my cleaning as well, everyone keeps telling me how clean I have to be!!! I KNOW!!! Trust me I have a huge OCD obsession....I think it was during the panic last weekend that the infection got in....
Hey ho we must battle on....Never mind it just means I have to make more beer!!!
