When to dilute?

Post by Kristoff » Tue Oct 27, 2009 1:12 pm

I've just kegged my Buttcombe Bitter clone and the final gravity is 1006 giving 4.9% ABV. I want to dilute with 1.8l to make it 4.3%, my question is.. Is it too late now it's fermented?

I wouldn't. But you could try boiling water to deoxygenate it and carefully diluting with it once it's cooled.

Depends on how long its been kegged for though as you risk oxidisation, Personally i think you would ideally dilute at the end of first fermentation. I would leave it alone and just enjoy the effects of the extra alcohol!!!!
