Hi All
I am interested in making my own boiler and have read that you can use elements form domestic kettles from supermarkets. I had a look in my local supermarket the other day and could only see the cordless type. Can you use cordless kettle elements, can you dismantle them and use the element?
If someone could advise me I would be greatfull, any suggestions as to a good (cheap, easy to dismantle kettle) or ready to use elements would also be greatfully recieved.

Re: Kettle Elements
Yeah you can still use a cordless kettle as donor as long as the element is't one of those discs that
cover the base of the kettle. I used the very cheapest 2 I could find - £4.72 each from Wilkinson's.

Re: Kettle Elements
Wilkinsons is the ideal one-stop shop for boiler makers, because as well as cheap kettles they also sell fermenting buckets that are suited to boiler making.
Edit: Called in Wilkinsons today and noted that...
Kettles = £4.78
Buckets = £7.99
Total = £12.77
