Late Hops

I was reading GW's book regarding late hops. I seems that you introduce late hops once the wort has cooled to 80 C, my question is how lond do you leave them before draining the boiler?

Do you chaps put the lid on the boiler at this stage to help prevent evaporative loss of essential oils from the late hops? Or is this not an issue?

I leave the lid off for the boil and cooling to 80c then the lid is on, more for protection than any other loss. There seems to be a lot of flying things about with this warm weather.

Lid off to cool to 80 degs, lid on for late hops for 30 mins, then continue to cool to 30 degs before draining to fermentation vessel and pitching yeast
