Tomorrow morning (well today now) im going to start my first all grain brew, ive just been doing last minute checks before i go to bed and have stumbled across a problem! i am using the brupaks bavarian weissbier mash kit and i dont know if the pack of hops are bittering or aromatic! i just assumed they were bittering but thinking that wheat beers have a low hop bitterness im now unsure... does anyone know what they would be?

Weissbier hops, bitter or aromatic?
Re: Weissbier hops, bitter or aromatic?
I've had a look at a couple of recipes and the hops are added at 60 mins only, so that suggests bittering rather than aromatic/flavour.
Re: Weissbier hops, bitter or aromatic?
I was told they were just for bittering as the yeast add's the aroma in Weiss/Wit
Re: Weissbier hops, bitter or aromatic?
its confusing because the instructions given are a general set given to all the different kits, so it tells you when to add bittering hops and aromatic hops, despite on having one bag of hops. im going to go with bittering though unless anyone says otherwise in the next two hours... im mashing at the moment!

Re: Weissbier hops, bitter or aromatic?
You are right about bittering and not aroma hops and the levels of bittering should be very low.
Re: Weissbier hops, bitter or aromatic?
Thanks guys, im just gonna boil now for half an hour then add the hops for an hour.
