Just bought new Burco 30 ltr tea urn for HLT and boiling
Trialled it today reached 98degrees thermostat cut in- dropped to 95 then heated up again
Phoned Burco they state this is the new 'spec' from Health and Safety ie no sustained boil can be achieved
I understand there is an idiots guide how to override the thermostat somewhere
Can anyone advise please?
PS I am a visual learner!!!
Many thanks in anticipation
How do you override new Burco thermostat
Re: override new Burco thermostat -sorted
Sorted it.
The high end cut out needed disconnecting - nothing to do with the thermostat!

Re: How do you override new Burco thermostat
Hi - how did you do it? was it as easy as moving the thermostat sensor away from the base?
I did the conversion to disconnect the thermostat and found that it was still cutting out on and off during the boil

The ***** Burco 30 ltr cut out!!!!!
The saga continues!
I thought I had cracked my NEW Burco 30 ltr boiler from just simmering when at the boil ie reached boil, then cut out, then heated up from 95, then cut out etc.
I could not sustain a rolling boil
I have bypassed both what I thought were the cut outs - so confident was I that I did not try a full boil of water went straight to the wort.
IT CUT OUT AGAIN
I cannot see anything else to bypass except the thermostat which kind of buggers up the whole reason for having this Burco
Has anyone else had this problem?
PS I saved the wort as I have a back up plastic boiler with a kettle element which is brill - sustaining a rolling boil as long as you want

Re: How do you override new Burco thermostat
I have a friend who has just gone through this problem and fixed it. Admittedly he now has a very enthusiastic rolling boil but I will ask him to describe how he did it and post back. Probably tomorrow now.

Barny,
Possible answer below. Not sure if you have a later version of a Burco though as mine used to be able to o a rolling boil for 90 minutes, no problems. I haven't got around to doing any of the conversions yet as awaiting imminent arrival of #1 child and have been busy with other DIY for months!!
