Co2 retention problem

Post by Charlie B » Sat Feb 27, 2010 9:15 pm

I currently have 3 cornies tapped, all suffering from this curious occurance. Recently they all have an audible fizz when poured. 2 of them are in a temperature controlled fridge held at 12C 11PSI and the other is outside of the fridge at 20psi. I have tried different glasses, cleaned with soda crystals to try and eliminate my concern that it was that. This still occurs however and is affecting head retention. The same beers in the same set up did not suffer from this problem a few weeks a go.

Could dirty taps cause such a problem? Has anyone else experienced this? Previously it seemed to be my beers gained head retention with age, its not age causing this is it?

Man, that's a tough one! There's gotta be something inside the keg. A residue from washing, maybe something in your recipe??

How are you carbonating?
Sommeliers recommend that you swirl a glass of wine and inhale its bouquet before throwing it in the face of your enemy.
