Anyone do much of this?
With my recent disaster viewtopic.php?f=24&t=34178 I bunged in 20g of Mount Hood in the FV during fermentation and boy has it done the trick! Just put the beer into a corny last night and it tastes lovely and hoppy.
FV Hopping
Re: FV Hopping
The beer is tasting like one of the best ones Ive made!! I just threw them in and obviously they floated but not a major issue as it all goes into a secondary afterwards anyway.

I do it often in both secondary and beyond. In the FV I just bung in the hops but for sticking additional hops in the corny\barrel I got myself some of these. They're about 3" in diameter and you can stuff quite a few hops in them. They do the job and you don't end up with bits of hops in your teeth

Re: FV Hopping
I thought stuffing them in one of those might stifle the amount of surface area that gets to the hops, thats why I just bunged them in the FV.

Agreed...in a FV. I use them in the corny - it's either one of these or an old sockcrookedeyeboy wrote:I thought stuffing them in one of those might stifle the amount of surface area that gets to the hops, thats why I just bunged them in the FV.
