Just ordered some Nelson Sauvin to try a single hop ale as been reading rave reviews about these on here.
Any top tried and trusted recipes for recommendation on this one,
Cheers gazza

I may be speaking out of turn here as I know there are a lot of fans but I dont like too much NS in a beer. I like the flavour it gives but any more than a pint of anything predominantly NS and I've had enough.

I tend to use it as one of the aroma hops and can enjoy more than the one pint at this level.

Single hop NS beers are a bit 'marmite' IMO

I hate Marmite but love Nelson Sauvin's :)
They work really well with Cascade & Centennial too as well as a single hop beer.

For some people Cascade is a Marmite hop. Personally I like it but I've met enough people that don't

Oh good, next beer I'm brewing is with Centennial and NS. Never actually tasted a beer with it in.
It seems to get raved about and detested in equal doses.

FWIW

Marmite = No
NS = Yes - though I've never tried it as a single hop beer
Cascade = Big yes as single or combined with other hops...love it.

My two goes:

NS only - superb, with PM, xtal, wheat malt, maize and a little sugar to lighten.
NS with Bobek and Bramling X - very refreshing summer special with lager malt, carapils, wheat malt and oat malt.

Marmite, XO, Marston's and home-made - love them all - perhaps I have no taste at all
Vegimite - yuk :-&

I love NS as a single hop beer - only if you go OTT with it though. More is better!

Any comments on too much NS regarding the taste of cat pi55? Thats what a friend of mine has said it tastes like if you go overboard.

Anyone tried it with Mount Hood?

I think it tastes a bit waxy when used OTT.

Mount Hood is very similar to, almost the same as, Goldings. My mate gets a cat piss type aroma but he quite likes that, I don't get it myself. Love NS, hate marmite for me.

I did a single hop NS to 50 IBUs with 15g @ 90 mins, 15g @ 30 mins, 30g @ 10 mins and another 30g @ 0 mins

Plenty of grape there but overpowering for me. It is one of those hops with is quite unique and will polarise opinion

And yes, that cat piss aroma was there for me
