JW Lees Moonraker

Just out of interest has anyone tried the Moonraker recipe from BYOBRA? Never had the beer itself but at 7+% might be a good one to make and stash away for a few months :)

I made it from the said book. Likewise though, had never heard of it.
I would certainly do it again, very nice after about 6 wks in the bottles.

In fact mrs T said it was her favorite, could be why it didn't last long

Moonraker is an excellent beer, currently selling in my local Morrison's. I may also be tempted to give it a go myself.

It's a northwest brew and it's not a bad pint!

They used to have a competition in my local that if you could drink 7 pints of this stuff then you got a free Tshirt (to mop up with)

I'll definitely have a crack at the recipe, hopefully I can fit all the grain in the mash tun! I might have a look in Morrisons and see if I can get hold of a botte (not 7 tho' HH :-& )

Cheers

Love moonraker .. more of a sipping beer that a chuck down the next. Very rich and malty brew, lovely. Yup, I get mine at Morrisons too.

Morrisons are by far the best place to pick up ales for quite some distance.

Thanks Tony/Dedken

Made a pilgimage to the nearest Morrisons this afternoon and picked up a bottle of Moonraker (as well as a couple of bottles of white shield and a few others!)

Cheers
