Got the basics, now what?

Post by dean_wales » Tue Dec 14, 2010 2:05 pm

So I have done 3 or 4 brews on my new 5 gallong AG equipment and am happy.

So far its just been maris otter and crystal based ales with common hops. I did make one darker ESB type brew at 7.4% for fun too. My 25kg sack of maris otter is nearly done so Im looking forwards... I need to place another bulk order with maltmiller or someone similar for ingredients for the next few brews.

Any suggestions on interesting brews to move on to. I would love to make the following and would welcome your input/recipes/advice:

A Hoegaarden clone
A small batch of stout like guiness
A flavoured beer
A lager in the garden shed while its winter
A SMASH cheapie
More MO based 'real ales'

Thanks,

Dean.

I'll be posting my easy'n'cheap Hoegaarden clone in the recipes section next week after i've managed to take a photo. It's pretty close, i'd say!

As for Guinness:

3500kg pale malt
1000kg flaked barley
500g roast barley
30g Target, full boil
