camden tablets

Post by far9410 » Tue Mar 15, 2011 5:03 pm

Hi

I,m going for AG2 tomorrow, gonna treat 36ltrs water with one crushed tablet, leave overnight in kitchen. I brew in the garage which is cold so thinking that this will give boiler a head start on temp, question is, how long does camden tablet require to do its bit?
no palate, no patience.

Drinking - of course

Its pretty much instant, by the time it's dissolved it does the job.

One tablet might be a bit much for that volume of water, cut it to a half. I treated the water for a starter recently and it was a bad move as the starter took two whole days to kick off.

If you consider the campden tab to work instantly you won't be far out (OK, so it's an exaggeration but only a bit).
You can just stir it in and start heating the water.
