Materials to help prevent stuck wheat mash?

Post by dean_wales » Mon Mar 21, 2011 2:22 pm

Hi guys,

I have all I need for a wheat beer but couldnt get any rice or oat husks at the time of ordering.

Could you guys suggest anything that is easily obtainable and cheap that I could use to help prevent a stuck mash? I will consider anything. I was even thinking of various kitchen ingredients last night!

I will be using a 5 gallon bucket tun with a false bottom. Mash is 50/50 pilsner malt and flaked wheat.

Thanks,

Dean.

Could always line the tun with voile as insurance against a stuck mash.
