Has anyone ever come across a bit of software for keeping track of Stock?
With various malted grains, adjuncts, hops and yeasts, I'm getting sick of rooting through the cupboard every time I see a recipe to see if I have in stock this or that item.
I am thinking of writing something simple but thought that it would probably have been done before and far better than my feeble attempt would be.
What would you recommend?
Thanks in anticipation.

Re: Brewing Stock
I use pen and paper, just keep a list which I update after each brew.

Re: Brewing Stock
Promash has an option for this, although when I was messing around with it, it did get a bit tiresome adjusting stock levels everytime I did a brew, I am lazy though, so you may fair better.

Re: Brewing Stock
Beer Smith does this fine. Bit of an arse setting it up, but then once you've put recipe in, then made the beer, you can remove the ingredients from your stock.
But, it's only as good as you make it. If you press the button twice, or don't press it's wrong..

Just to add to that - if you add a recipe to your Brew Log after you've brewed it, it automatically deducts the type and amount of ingredients you used from your inventory, so in theory you should always know where you are. Works fine until you start substituting but if you remember to change the bill in your brew log, it works fine. - whilst leaving the original recipe with the correct ingredients.R1ch wrote:Beer Smith does this fine. I find a simple excel sheet works fine for me so long as I remember to update it on each computer I use.
