I am going to do a 80 degree steep using 1 litre of fermented beer and 30 grams of hops for 1 hour in a thermos flask just prior to bottling.
Hoping to get a different type of aroma than just dry hopping.
Has anyone else tried this method before?

I've not done it like that but once tried steeping Goldings before kegging in a cafetiere. I wasn't overly impressed but will try it again with different hops.

I think you're saying this because the alcohol will be driven off of the wort at 80c?sib67 wrote:The boiling point of ethanol is about 78C.
I don't think the litre from the thermos is all that is going to be bottled. I would assume the contents of the flask will be added back into the whole brew length before bottling.

If I had all the money I'd spent on brewing... I'd spend it on brewing!

The 1 litre will be added to the remaining 24
