shortages.......
shortages.......
dont mean to worry anyone but farams is out of so many good hops its untrue, thisll trickle down to your suppliers soon, so stock up!
and next year prices of barley will skyrocket as farmers are looking at a 50%drop in the amount theyre expecting to harvest due to the dry weather
let us all pray to the benevolent beer gods!

Re: shortages.......
I predict stock shortages at all the regular Home Brew suppliers within a couple of hours of Critch listing any.Dennis King wrote:Do you know of any particular hops that will be in short supply Critch
I blame it all on BrewDog for using too many.

Re: shortages.......
Wish I had planted some hop plants now

Re: shortages.......
Thanks for the heads-up. I've been panic buying before everyone else starts panic buying. Got enough to last me until this year's harvest now

Re: shortages.......
at the mo centennial columbus ahtanum amerillo willamette and a few others are utterly gone till december cascade and chinook stocks are very low all the nz hops apart from some dibs and drabs are utterly sold out too my contact at farams said theyve had an unprecedented 50% rise in sales this year, more micros more homebrewers!Dennis King wrote:Do you know of any particular hops that will be in short supply Critch
next year he recons hell be low on fuggles and east kent goldings, due to the weather.
not that i give a rats ass about that though

Re: shortages.......
A few weeks ago I had a look around the internet and many suppliers were selling 25kg Pale Malt for £55-60! Now I don't tend to look around normally as JBP will give links to suppliers who'll let you have that for about £30 delivered but it scared me that these prices could be the norm soon.

Re: shortages.......
no chinook left at farams now, cascade down to 40% of this time last years stock level........ive just ordered 100kg to be safe, that should sort me out till november / december
shouldnt hit you lads too much till brupaks sell out as they supply most of the other hbs
as thrifty shopper buy direct from farams they might be good for some of the harder to source hops

Re: shortages.......
As long as it goes back down again, my main beef with companies is they put things up because of exceptional circumstances then they conveniently stay there...
