Planning first Lager

Post by masterosouffle » Sat Apr 14, 2012 7:23 am

Hi guys,
I have the desire to produce my first lager, fermenting fridge is sitting empty and my keggerator is coming along nicely, thought it would be nice for the summer to have a lager on tap alongside my other brews...
I have some hallertau and a bit of perle in stock, but only pale malt, (crisp maltings) is it possible to use this?
Does anyone have a good recipe I can borrow? Something more interesting than your standard yellow beer would be ideal...
I did try a black, coffee pilsner at a festival last week which was amazing, but the mrs doesn't like coffee so need something different
I will be doing an order from Rob so anything I don't have will be easily sourced
Cheers in advance!

Cheers, that's a great link! Really like the idea of the Schwarzbier :)
