Really depends what you're going for and what you like.
Somewhere around 100IBU is the max we can taste I believe, so quiet bitter.
For reference, Sierra Nevada Torpedo is around 70IBU.

A lot of good IPA's have lower bitterness but a big hop punch from late addition/steeping and dry hopping.
Your ABV will also effect how the bitterness is precieved, in general stronger beers need more bitterness.

I guess I'm saying do whatever and see how it goes, no one else knows what beer you are trying to brew.
My last pale ale had an OG of 1030 and 85IBU

"they" say 100 IBUs is basically saturation point for cramming hop hop acids into beer.

All sorted just added 50g of Galaxy at 80 degrees at left for 50 mins now cooling down to 25.

I'm using Whitelabs Burton Ale Yeast to give it something different......

I also plan to dry hop this with the rest of that Galaxy for 48 or 72 hours at the end of the Fermentation period.

Here's fingers crossed.....

You'll need to give it longer than that. I dry hop for 2 weeks with whole cones. I don't think you'll get much out of it in 2 or 3 days.

Jesus, 2 or 3 weeks......

I did 50g of Summit in a session ale over 4 days and wow what a lovely pong......lol. I made sure i squeezed and stoked it every day.....and the end result is gorgeous.....more by luck than judgement beleive me....lol.

Honestly.......so you reckon wait till the fermentation is over then stick the bag in and leave it for 2 weeks?

Cheers for your advice.....

Louis :-)

Prolonged dry hopping can produce large amounts of grassy flavours with some hops, I prefer larger amounts for shorter periods, I agree with the OP, 2-4 days is my maximum...

If it's an IPA then there is no such thing as too much hops
