First brew.

Post by gubby_uk » Thu Apr 04, 2013 9:31 pm

Hi all,
I've got several pounds of pale malt and a block of challenger hops. I am going to try a one gallon batch as I've not tried grain brewing before. I have a cool box which will be my mash tun.I was thinking of 2 pounds of grain to a gallon of water as a start point. How much hops would you suggest please? Also, when would you add them? Should I put the hops in the mash tun or add them later?
Cheers all,
Gubby

If you're doing it at all, you might as well do a full batch. It's going to be a lot of work for one gallon of beer.
I'm just about to finish getting all my kit together, first run will be 50L. BOOM!

Based on the questions you are asking I'd say take a good read of this website.
