A bottle bomb.

10g a litre priming? That's uncharted territory for me, I stick to around 4g per litre for most beers.

I don't think it will be a bottle bomb but pretty damn fizzy, good for a lager?

Btw I use 6.5g/l for lager (like it fizzy) and I reckon it adds 0.5% ish

I'm pretty sure I bulk carbed 24litres of weissbier with 240g sugar in 2011 to hit 3.5vols co2. It was a little over carbonated for my taste but no bombs

Sorry Nigel,
I have had a few and can't quite contemplate measures of volume. It may well be a bottle bomb!

I've done 150gms in a Belgian type beer, your amount shouldn't be a problem as long as you have strong bottles and don't mind fizz.

+ of course you are CERTAIN the beer has reached Final Gravity or you may have an issue!

Cheers!

Yes, thanks Manx Guy, do check your readings to make sure they have petered out.

been adding 5g per 500ml bottle for years now and never had a bomb. i do make sure its finished, rack store in the cool, rack, then bottle.

and yes i do like it fizzy, no matter what style it is.

so is the concensus 0.2% of extra bang for your buck then?

I've used upto 8g per liter with no issues in the past. However once I bottled a bit too early and ended up with 42 gushing bottles, but fortunately no bombs...

:)

To answer th OP thread yes the priming sugar will add a small amount to the final ABV but not much and no more than 0.5%

Hope that helkps

I had no idea people were carbonating beer to this level, sounds like I prefer a little less fizz in my beer.

Cheers
