Saffron

Post by IPA » Tue Jun 11, 2013 11:25 am

I have just been asked by a local saffron grower if I knew of any recipes for saffron beer. More specifically the addition rates to blonde beers. Any help/suggestions will be much appreciated.

Saffron is pretty expensive, if you don't know a grower, so I'm betting not that many home brewers have used it. I think a blonde ale would be a good beer to try it in.
I'm just here for the beer.

Stuff going to be pricey!
1/2 ounce, expensive indeed. I think that's about 15 grams and the Safeway near my house has a little over one gram for $16 and that's the cheaper brand.

Hmmm. I got given some Iranian Saffron from a colleague a few years ago during a visit to the country. I think I've found a good use for it.
