Gelatin before or after cold crashing?

Post by The Dribbler » Tue Jun 11, 2013 6:39 pm

I have cold crashed a beer in the brewfridge for a week , and wish to add some Gelatin to quickly sort out some cloudiness.

Will adding Gelatin now to the beer work as well as it would prior to cold crashing?

Doesn't seem to matter much, it seems to work at most temperatures. If anything (as it works by electrostatic attraction) it may be better in warmer beer but I wouldn't worry about adding it in your case, should be good.

If the gelatine doesn't do the job it may be chill haze, Polyclar added in the same way should fix it.
