I think it would be difficult to buy by the Kg... I know some HB shops sell by the 500g on varieties.... You could try Dean in his ebid die..but generally hop merchants sell by the 5kg

Simply Hops might be worth a try although normally 5kg.

Again brewersselect might be worth a try but normally 5kg.

Anything your were practically after ? it might be worth asking if any members want to spilt a pack.

BTW splitting 5kg of whole hops is a PITA, pellets are easier to do + take up far less freezer space.

You could try

www.comptoir-houblon.fr/

I know it's french but you can select english. They are really cheap - 10 euro per kilo for many hops and they sell 1 kg quantities. Not sure about delivery though.

Just had a look at that website - certainly worth further exploration.

Cheers

I just stuck 2kg of hops in the trolley on that French site and the price went up from about 13 Euros to £17 Euros ish with taxes, and then about 20 Euros was added for delivery, total cost 37 Euros for 1kg Brewers Gold and 1kg Columbus.

So about 1.85 Euros per 100g including delivery.

I then stuck another 2kg in and the delivery charge stayed the same. Limited choice of hops though.

i'd counter limited choice with hops you don't see in all the other places, and a nice whack of organic hops too...

I did the same and got roughly the same prices. Limited choices, as you say, but if you know you like and use a lot of a particular variety then it could be a bargain. Will definitely keep them in mind :)

I've bought Brewers Gold and Sajinski from the Comptoir Houblon in France; they arrived in thick vacuum sealed bags, protected by a big cardboard box. The hops were very fresh, and not compressed as much as I have had from other places, hence the big box. Two kilos take up a bit of room in the freezer, but the quality is excellent. I see they recently started doing Fuggles too, which I could definitely use a kilo of over a few months.
