Ok so it looks like the Mrs will buy me a malt mill for christmas.
I like the roller mill from the home brew shop, but they refuse to ship to norway.
I have also seen the barly crusher mill which looks good too.
I have a corona type mill now that is really hard to adjust and efficiency varies as does the crush. the hopper taks 500g at a time so grinding malt is task.
What do you guys recommend+ i want a roller type, and it has to be viable to post to Norway,
Thanks
D

Re: Recommend a malt mill
This has been debated before and no one really had an answer. Seems like a big grey area in the UK

Is there an issue posting to Norway, surely someone in the UK could send it over for you.

I've got a Barley Crusher and it's been very good, never missed a beat.
Edit: mine's not the same one as from your link above though.
Got it from the US of A, here http://www.barleycrusher.com/

Re: Recommend a malt mill
Well after much searching i finally settled on one.
There was a fault on the web page for barleycrusher.com and after 2 days of trying i gave up.
The one from the homebrewshop that could not be sent directly to me was never going to be a starter either so i opted on this one.
http://espressoonline.com/component/jsh ... Itemid=532
Its a 10lb ( 4500 gram) hopper which for a nice session ale means that pretty much all whole grain can be ground at once I always have some ready ground grains in the brewery any way.
The cost was 139 USD plus 60 USD in postage, but even with the postage its a damn site cheaper than it would be here in Norway.
There is obviously a great deal of discussion around malt mills and which are best so in this instance i think i will review it when i grind for the first brew with it. Maybe it will be of interest to others here. There are some on the market that have a hopper which will room almost 7 kilos of grain, and for those of you that brew 30-40 litre batches this is likey more suitable. I would however imagine that making an extension to the hopper is not much work if needed.
