Bottling chilled beer

Post by Thorbz » Fri Dec 06, 2013 12:49 pm

I have an IPA sitting in my FV that I crash-cooled in the conservatory for the last week, mainly to drop the loose pellet hops I`d dry-hopped with. They`re now a pretty green sludge in the bottom, and the beer is fairly clear. I don`t normally crash-cool, and I`m a little nervous about the amount of CO2 dissolved in the beer. Can anyone verify the accuracy of the various online priming calculators when it comes to priming at the lower temperatures ? The beer is currently about 7 degrees C., and I`m looking for about 2.1 volumes of CO2, which the online calcs. estimate as about 70g of sugar.

Any help appreciated.

What quantity of beer? for 5gallons thats not unreasonable and I wouldn't be too concerned over the amount of CO2 in solution.

Yeah, sorry, 5 gallons. Bottling has been abandoned for the day, so I`ll get it done tomorrow ( hopefully ).

Thanks.
