torrified barley

I am going to brew Youngs special from G. Wheelers book, but torrified barley is not available in Australia.Should I use flaked barley as a substitute?

Never heard of horrified barley either. A quick look at my copy and the recipe asks for pale and crystal only. Hope that helps.

Just looked at my Young's Special in Wheeler and no torrified barley, just pale and crystal.
Best wishes

The recipe depends on which GW book you read . the 'brew your own real ale at home' recipe has Pale malt, torrified barley and chocolate malt. As said above I have not seen any torrified barley.
