Help on my first 3 AG brews.

Post by LeeH » Tue Jun 24, 2014 1:02 pm

I'm nearly ready for my fist AG brew, hurray!!

So I'm after some simple but good recipients ideas. My 3 styles I would like are as follows and I'm wanting to brew then in quick succession.

AG#1 A punk IPA clone or some sort of hoppy APA of the same ilk.

AG#2 A easy drinking stout that I want to serve on my nitro set up

AG#3 A cherry beer that is more cherry then beer. This is for my better half as she doesn't like beer but she enjoyed a 1/2 if cherry beer at the Tap Bar in York.

I have Beer Smith and would like to use that for a 23L brew length.

Thanks in advance.

Lee.

PS all advice and tips welcome.

Have you had a look in the beersmith cloud recipe database yet? http://beersmithrecipes.com/viewrecipe/ ... tomic-punk
It is a good starting point to get some ideas.
I think the cherry beer will be difficult to get right.

A simple wit with a big cherry addition after primary fermentation would be good.

Half lager/half wheat, herbrucker or similar to 10-20 IBUs and a neutral yeast like US-05.

Add a kilo of cherries for 20 litres like you would dry hop after the primary fermentation for a week.
